OBOIVU was founded on 06th February 2008 and operated as a Community Based Organization (CBO) in the name of Christian Youth Missionary Group Kinawataka (CYMGK).
In order to be able to serve all the most vulnerable youths in Uganda without discriminating in terms of religion, political affiliation or tribe, the CBO rebranded and on 13th October 2021, obtained Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) certificate to operate as One By One Initiative for Vulnerable Communities in Uganda (OBOIVU). In 2022, we officially registered with the Government of the Republic of Uganda through the Ministry of internal Affairs through NGO Bureau to become a Non-Profit National NGO.
OBOIVU works to support the most vulnerable communities in Uganda to tackle some of the challenges facing them like; Unemployment, insecurity, poor sanitation and health, poor drainage systems, food insecurity, water borne diseases and computer illiteracy.
Our operations are currently present in the districts of Kampala (Urban slums or Ghettos in Kampala namely: Kinawataka, Kiwunya, Katwe, Kyebando and others); Wakiso; Zombo; Oyam and Pader.
