Environment and Climate Change / Green Skilling Initiatives

OBOIVU equips the most vulnerable ghetto / slum women and youths with knowledge and hands on skills in Climate Change resiliency initiatives like: Organic Urban Farming, Charcoal Briquettes and Stove making, Garbage Sorting and Plastic Waste Recycling.

We set up individual gardens for our trainees in Organic Urban Farming from which they get food for their families and also sell to get money. We organize our trainees into Village Saving Groups from which money accumulated can be lent back to members at very low interests to expand their backyard gardens.

We also empower pupils, students, youths and women in their communities to demand for improved service delivery from their leaders. This is done through organizing Community Youth Parliaments and Community Caravans.
